31190 (previously named 'Gryphon' by Fragonset) was restored to 1960s appearance to 'star' in a an episode of "The Royal" filmed in late 2006, in which it is seen to have hit a Hillman Imp on a level crossing. The crossing used was Asher Lane at Ruddington on the GCR(N). Although back in place now, the headlight and even the orange cant rail stripe were not fitted at the time of the filming in the interests of authenticity.
