Although included here in the DMU section the Parry People Mover is neither diesel nor a multiple unit since it cannot work in multiple and is powered by a combination of kinetic energy stored by flywheel and a 2.3 litre engine running on LPG. Two of these were introduced in 2009 to work the 0.8 mile Stourbridge Town to Stourbridge Junction branch line previously handled by a class 153. [see here]
